I’ve got some awesome news for you today!

It’s not just unpleasant thoughts feelings and experiences that wire neural pathways to create automated responses. Whenever you have pleasant things happen, it wires a pathway to the response you have to that event. Likewise, when you can imagine or relive happy and pleasant memories and events regularly, or even just get yourself in a state of happiness or even bliss, you will be wiring new positive pathways and creating new responses.

When you take something that you normally would respond quite negatively to, and find a way to either change your thoughts and feelings around it (reframing what happened and affirming you are now safe and ok for example) or using a tool or method to help you release the negative around what happened.

And what do you think the best tool is for this? EFT of course!!


EFT has following effects –

  • It reduces the physical symptoms of stress in the moment
  • It dramatically reduces the emotional intensity of past traumatic events, meaning they don’t retrigger you to the same extent
  • It rewires the brain to respond differently to old stress triggers in the environment meaning you require your reactions to things happening by releasing the stress of something so that you can respond differently


Think about that for a minute!


Most of us carry wounds from childhood, or previous parts of our lives. It’s normal to get down about stuff and to ruminate on things. But I know in my life, I got to the point where I just couldn’t handle any more of it. I really was at the end of my tether.


And then I found EFT and felt the relief within minutes!

I worked initially on one particular memory of my beautiful dog Captain having to be put to sleep and my feelings of guilt that I couldn’t do any more for him to make him feel better. Whilst it didn’t change the fact that it was really sad to have to let him go when neither of us were ready, his body was giving up and it was the best thing to do. It made me feel more peaceful about having to let him go, knowing I had done the absolute best I could for him from the moment we met and at the very end. So with EFT, I had changed the typical response I had been having of ruminating over the same thoughts over and over again producing deep sadness and sorrow. Instead I began to feel more peace with my decision and the guilt and self-flagellation stopped, making space for more positive thoughts, feelings and emotions around it.


EFT won’t change your experiences, nothing can. No amount of reframing or reimprinting will change the actual event. It has happened and that’s woven into the fabric of time.


What changes is your response to it and it’s a beautiful feeling.

I fully believe that all emotions are here to be felt so there is no such thing as a negative or bad emotion per se, they only become negative and toxic when we allow them to linger and fester and amplify.


It’s been proven that prolonged “negative” emotions felt in our bodies actually have a direct effect on our cells too, as you can see from Dr Emoto’s study about human consciousness having an effect on the molecular structure of water.


“Emoto said that water was a “blueprint for our reality” and that emotional “energies” and “vibrations” could change the physical structure of water. Emoto’s water crystal experiments consisted of exposing water in glasses to different words, pictures, or music and then freezing and examining the aesthetic properties of the resulting crystals with microscopic photography.[8][17] Emoto made the claim that water exposed to positive speech and thoughts would result in visually “pleasing” crystals being formed when that water was frozen and that negative intention would yield “ugly” frozen crystal formations.” Wikipedia.


Quite simply, Dr Emoto and others have proven that the vibration we extend into or around living cells changes the make up of the cells so they behave differently. And since our bodies are up to 60% water it follows that our cells would react the same way.


But getting back to Neural Plasticity for a moment, we now know that we are constantly creating new neural pathways or reinforcing or changing existing ones. That literally means you can wire your brain to think, feel and react in the optimum way if you choose to. Isn’t that incredible?


It doesn’t mean you can just simply “do it” one day and be done with it thought. We are creatures of habit with around 90% of our daily actions happening on autopilot based on the neural pathways we have already created. But with practice, and lots of tapping, we can change the way our brains build themselves day after day.
